What is the ELL Program about?
Our ELL curriculum, developed by a former ESL curriculum writer at Pearson, offers a comprehensive approach to language learning with 40 beginner and 40 intermediate modules. Each module is designed to build essential language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This program gradually strengthens foundational skills, ensuring steady improvement in comprehension and communication abilities for both beginner and intermediate learners.
Can you give examples of ELL course offerings?
Beginner English:
- Part 1 (Modules 1-12): Establish a foundation in English through basic conversational phrases, greetings, and vocabulary for common themes like food, family, and recreation.
- Part 2 (Modules 13-25): Explore grammatical conventions, with an emphasis on present, past, and future tenses. Begin reading short stories to practice sight reading, pronunciation, and using context clues for vocabulary building.
- Part 3 (Modules 26-40): Boost confidence in speaking fluency and reading comprehension, expanding comfort with complex phrases and advanced vocabulary.
Intermediate English:
- Part 1 (Modules 1-12): Focus on fundamental grammar rules to elevate English fluency in conversation and reading comprehension. Analyze longer stories and nonfiction texts for main ideas, themes, and viewpoints.
- Part 2 (Modules 13-25): Deepen understanding of formal versus informal tone, definite/indefinite articles, the subjunctive, and advanced questioning. Further analyze longer texts for themes and viewpoints.
- Part 3 (Modules 26-40): Continue analyzing complex texts while also learning about American cultural aspects like places to visit, social customs, and popular norms.

Program overview
Our ELL curriculum is designed with 40 beginner and 40 intermediate modules focused on the essential pillars of language learning: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each module progressively builds these skills, supporting students' ability to communicate effectively and understand English deeply, whether they’re starting out or advancing their language proficiency.
Homework
Integrated worksheets are provided as part of the syllabus and learning system, featuring in-class notes and after-class homework. Students complete their worksheets following their coach’s instructions and submit them by the designated deadline to reinforce and build upon what they've learned in class.
